CULTURAL PEDAGOGIES AND LOVE IN "ADOTE UM CARA"

The present research aims to present a perspective based on Cultural Studies in Education, focusing on the ways in which the social network "Adote um Cara" operates through cultural pedagogies to guide its users in achieving successful romantic relationships. Using a space called LAB on the social network itself, a location similar to a blog, it is possible to find various content in text, image, and sound formats, aiming to guide the ways of being and behaving of users in order to achieve the ideal romantic relationship. The beginner’s guide and success stories are the categories of analysis that present the pedagogies of love; in other words, they show how to conquer and maintain a romantic relationship. Virtual flirting, the first date, and the first kiss are the essential steps of the beginner’s guide for those seeking a romantic relationship; while, to maintain this relationship and succeed, it requires legitimization through marriage, living together, and/or starting a family, according to the network’s guidelines. In this sense, the social network operates through pedagogies of love, guiding individuals to follow its patterns of beliefs, values, and lifestyle in order to achieve a successful love relationship.
