There are, in interior communities in the Amazon, multiple social groups that have been formed over time and each of them has its own characteristics from the most different aspects. In this context, we highlight the group of Amazonian riverside women, from Curuçambaba, a district of the city of Cametá, located in the lower Tocantins region, in the state of Pará, whose speeches were the starting point for this work, to analyse how they are constructed their identities, focusing on the influence of work on their life trajectories. In the discursive interpretation, we perceive some common axes that, as a whole, make up this multiple identity. These axes are associated with the analytical categories body, production, adaptability, politics and knowledge. The interpretation was guided by the reading of authors who dialogue with the theme, such as Bauman (2005, 2012), Beauvoir (1967), Buttler (2003), Carneiro (1993), Castells (2018) and Hall (2006). Qualitative research revealed that, in the diversity of functions, tasks, learning and knowledge, the feminine strength of these riverside women is rooted, capable of establishing themselves firmly and sustaining a multiple and malleable identity, adapted to the complex and difficult reality between rivers and forests.
