Public policies for students with dyslexia aim at school inclusion, guaranteeing adapted pedagogical support and assistive technologies. The promotion of a more equitable and inclusive education is based on the understanding and implementation of educational policies aimed at ensuring that these students receive adequate support in the learning process. Countries such as the United Kingdom and the United States adopt guidelines to identify and support students with dyslexia, promoting equal opportunities and improving academic and social development. The central question of this study is: What are the main challenges and gaps in Brazilian public policies aimed at developing reading and writing skills in students with dyslexia, and how can these policies be improved to better meet the needs of this population? With the general objective of analyzing national public policies aimed at developing reading and writing skills in students with dyslexia, this study used a bibliographical approach to identify the educational practices implemented, the challenges of their application, and the impacts on the academic development of students.
