Autogenous tooth transplantation (ATT) is characterized as a biological, cost-effective, and long-term alternative for oral rehabilitation, particularly in young patients for whom dental implants are not yet indicated. It consists of the surgical transposition of teeth from one site to another within the same individual, preserving the viability of the periodontal ligament, which ensures proprioception, esthetics, and masticatory function. This integrative review, conducted in the PubMed, SciELO, and VHL databases, included 23 studies published between 2019 and 2025 that addressed the efficacy, indications, and clinical outcomes of ATT. The findings indicate high success rates, especially in immature teeth due to their greater capacity for revascularization, whereas mature teeth require early endodontic treatment. Determining factors include appropriate donor tooth selection, proper preparation of the recipient site, precise surgical execution, and clinical-radiographic follow-up. Therefore, ATT proves to be a predictable and effective technique, consolidating its role as a valuable therapeutic option in contemporary rehabilitative dentistry.
