Abstract

Since the beginning of the 21st century, the topic of innovation has been debated in the most diverse areas of knowledge. In the educational field, educational institutions whose research programs consistently seek innovation gain prominence in the scientific community, and their authors are more frequently cited and sought after, thereby contributing to the institution’s reputation and attracting top talent. This article presents some results from a mapping that analyzed innovation in production on the CAPES Periodicals Portal from 2012 to 2024. The article presents the adaptation of a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) carried out, with the keywords “innovation” and “teaching”. Of the 63 articles selected in this process, 44 were interpreted, considering the conceptual manifestations of innovation. The excluded articles (19) were disregarded based on criteria that are explained in several paragraphs of the article. The results show that only ten articles explicitly address the concept of innovation, using theories and theorists as a basis. However, each of them used different authors to conceptualize the term.
