To allow the public to have direct contact with the splendid and profound historical past of China without leaving home, and with the aim of sparking public interest in potential visits, China Central Television, in cooperation with nine of China's major museums, launched the program "National Treasure" in December 2017. This is a historical and cultural program with educational purposes, aimed at bringing viewers closer to China's deep past. After its launch, the program received great applause from the public, and due to its success, it is already in its second season (launched in December 2018). Through the analysis of a specific case, we aim to present the organization of this program and describe the various combinations represented within it (such as the combination of documentary and TV show formats, and between expert explanations and theatrical representations by artists).
