THE ARCHETYPES OF LILITH, EVE, AND MARY AND FEMALE ILLNESS:

A JUNGIAN ANALYSIS

Abstract

This article aims to discuss the process of structuring the female psyche taking into account the archetypes of Lilith, Maria and Eva based on Jung's Psychology, Analytical Psychology, bringing a parallel of the increasing rates of mental illness, especially as far as the neuroses are concerned. Hypothesizing the idea that such archetypes can limit and determine the socially imposed roles related to gender and, in this way, cause the illness of the female, based on the questioning made of how the archetypes of Lilith, Mary and Eve spread by the religions of Judeo-Christian matrices can contribute to the different forms of female illness. The idea of ​​writing arises from the experience of the office, when seeking to apply Analytical Psychology as a way of treating these women and realizing that there is a common narrative in various processes of illness. The chosen methodology was the inductive one, being this qualitative and bibliographical research, not letting it be phenomenological in any way, due to the use of the narrative experiences heard in the treatments. It is concluded that the predominant religious formation of Brazilian women is one of the important factors for their illness, when they seek to follow rules and stereotypes, which generate repression.
