THE MOCAMBOS NETWORK AS A TECHNOPOLITICAL PRACTICE OF WORLD-MAKING

Abstract

In the face of a scenario marked by exploding inequalities, climate collapse, abandonment of solidarity, and disconnection — both with others and with nature (since, in the digital realm, what contemporary times do not lack are connections) — all characteristics of the globalization process and the current configuration of capital, now cyber-colonial, it becomes urgent to think about counter-colonial escape routes that reconstruct the technological arsenal and the applicability of human rights: earthly techno-resistances, such as the strategy of quilombola technological appropriation.

To materialize this bifurcation, the actions of the Mocambos Network will be analyzed — a quilombola network responsible for various initiatives that express a cosmovision grounded in organic relationships, sharing, and care for ancestral memory.

Based on the construction of this scenario, the objective of this research is to examine how to build counter-colonial perspectives not only of technologies but also of the effectiveness of the human rights discourse, questioning the proprietary model of platforms and the hegemonic traditional theory linked to the legitimacy of human rights. In this threshold, the aim is to verify the power of the Mocambos Network as a technopolitical force of resistance.

In conclusion, it is inferred that the techno-insurgent construction promoted by the Mocambos Network in its territories constitutes escape routes from the advance of technological capitalism and offers an alternative possibility for futurity, technology, and rights.
