The Importance of Emotional Intelligence in the Development of Leaders and Teams

This paper addresses the significance of Emotional Intelligence in the development of leaders and teams. The issue highlighted is the inclusion of Emotional Intelligence in leadership practices as a tool to enhance team development and generate positive results within an organization. The general objective of this study was to understand the role of Emotional Intelligence in organizational leadership and its ability to develop strategies that guide team engagement and productivity. The topic was chosen due to the need for managers and employees in organizations to recognize and balance emotions, thereby fostering harmonious and successful teamwork. The theoretical framework discusses authors who explore Emotional Intelligence, aspects of leadership, and teamwork. Regarding methodology, the study employed both qualitative and quantitative approaches, combining theoretical and practical research. It considered discussions about the topic and explanations of organizational realities to propose innovative and concrete alternatives, such as periodic feedback and climate surveys, to identify areas for improvement. This approach aims to enhance employee satisfaction and motivation, ultimately generating knowledge and contributing to leadership development.
