INHIBICIÓN DE CEPAS DE STAPHYLOCOCCUS AUREUS POR METABOLITOS SECUNDARIOS DE STREPTOMYCES SP

Resumen

Streptomyces es reconocido por su capacidad de producir compuestos bioactivos con acción antimicrobiana. Este estudio evaluó la actividad de metabolitos de Streptomyces sp. frente a cepas clínicas de Staphylococcus aureus. El extracto se obtuvo mediante fermentación sumergida, seguida de ensayos de actividad antimicrobiana, difusión en agar y determinación de la Concentración Inhibitoria Mínima (CIM) y la Concentración Bactericida Mínima (CBM). Se evaluaron las cepas estándar ATCC 25923, ATCC 29213 y la cepa clínica IC 2141. El extracto presentó halos de inhibición que variaron entre 17 ± 0,82 mm y 19,33 ± 1,15 mm. Los análisis de CIM y CBM revelaron una actividad inhibitoria y bactericida significativa, destacándose la cepa IC 2141 (CIM y CBM de 625 µg/mL). Los resultados demuestran que Streptomyces produce metabolitos con potencial antibacteriano, incluso contra cepas resistentes a antibióticos convencionales. Se concluye que las actinobacterias representan una fuente prometedora de compuestos bioactivos, reforzando la importancia de la bioprospección microbiana en el desarrollo de alternativas terapéuticas.
