Abstract

This study analyzes the impact of technical and vocational training on preparing young Mozambican women for the labor market, focusing on interns from the Boane Community Center for Skills Development (CECODEB) who graduated in 2022. The research, using both qualitative and quantitative approaches, employed questionnaires and document analysis to understand how the internship influenced the development of skills, professional identity, and job placement. The results show progress in participants’ self-confidence, self-esteem, and empowerment, although challenges such as the lack of psychological support and difficulties in formal employment insertion still persist. It is observed that a well-structured internship can serve as a tool for social transformation and a stimulus for entrepreneurship. The study concludes that training programs integrating technical and psychosocial aspects are essential to broaden opportunities for inclusion and professional empowerment of women in vulnerable contexts.
