Abstract

Couple and family psychotherapy has gained prominence as a clinical approach aimed at understanding and transforming relational dynamics within the marital and family context. This article aims to analyze the effectiveness of interventions based on Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT, EFIT, and EFFT) in promoting secure bonds and empathetic communication among those involved. It is a qualitative exploratory study with a bibliographic design, based on the analysis of scientific articles and specialized books. The results indicate that, by considering emotional attachment as a fundamental human need, these approaches foster greater emotional connection and conflict resolution. It is concluded that the application of these therapeutic modalities can significantly contribute to improving coexistence and the emotional well-being of couples and families, although challenges remain for their incorporation into more traditional clinical contexts.
